It is inevitable that RC Johnson will make the 2012 U.S. Olympic Greco-Roman Wrestling Team. He is known in the wrestling circuit as “The Doctor of Greconomics.” He got his name from his wrestling and educational accomplishments.

The Doctor of Greconomics didn’t begin wrestling until his freshman year in high school. He graduated from high school with honors and continued his educational success by graduating Magna Cum Laude in Computer Science from Northern Michigan University. At the age of 26, he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs while preparing for the 2012 Olympics. RC’s success in the classroom pales in comparison to his success on the wrestling mat.

Over the past decade RC has dedicated his life in preparing for the Olympics. He has competed in over 40 national and international tournaments where he has earned many gold, silver, and bronze medals. Just recently, he placed third in the 2008 Greco-Roman Wrestling Olympic Team Trials at 96 kg/211.5 lbs. weight class. He also served as Adam Wheeler’s wrestling training partner for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. With The Doctor of Greconomics’ support and training, Adam Wheeler earned a bronze medal in the 2008 Olympics at 96kg.

RC’s quest to make the 2012 U.S. Olympic Greco-Roman Wrestling Team demands that he stay focus, determined, and dedicated.
