My Work in the Vast Lab

"The V.A.S.T (Vision and Security Technology) lab, directed by Dr. T. Boult, is actively pursuing research in both vision and security."

The project I am working on as of Fall '04 is for detecting, evaluating, and tracking objects. In my part of the project it is assumed that you already know what objects you want to track and now you have to track them. It sounds easy enough but the particulars are interesting indeed. Once the project is up and running we will be able to track multiple objects in a 360 degree radius, using a scheduling algorithm to decide which object to concentrate on at a given time.

The actual name of the project is "SEE Port" which stands for Surveillance and Enemy Evaluation with PTZ and Omni-directional Reconnaissance Technology; which is indeed a mouthfull to say.

Update Jan '07:
I've written up a brief summary of the Kalman Filter. Its only a rough draft and has yet to be formatted using Latex. You are welcome to take a look at it here in PDF format. Feel free to send me mail via the "Contact Me" (with only "kalman" in the subject) if you have any questions/comments/concerns.
